WHoA 7th Speech Contest Stage Design
An exciting competition wouldn't be complete without a stage design full of creativity and imagination! Prepare to be amazed by the imaginative brilliance and stunning visual creations from four high school artists - Rosy Zhou, Avril Hu, Alex Song and Wesley Chiang of Art Hope Foundation - where creativity meets innovation to redefine artistic boundaries!
This stage piece is created with mirror paper and foam board. The mirrors are hung in a line facing one way, forming a horizontal pattern. Some mirrors are longer, some are shorter. Together, they are not just a pattern, but also a soundwave. This stage piece connects with this year’s speech contest topic — “The Moment of… .”
The soundwave-shaped piece tells us that this is a stage for one to share their story orally. When the speaker stands in front of this stage piece and presents their speech, their shape gets reflected in each mirror. The series of figures from the mirrors present different sides of the speaker, like capturing each moment of their life. These moments leave a lasting imprint on their lives, like reflections in a mirror, inspiring them to think deeper, explore further, and envision the future. At the same time, the mirrored imagery projected on stage allows the audience to witness transformation and growth, sharing in those pivotal, unforgettable moments alongside the speakers.
